To paint, or not paint, the ceilings

“Walls and baseboard for sure. I’m just not sure about the doors, the trim and the ceilings. What do you think?”

…”We want you to paint every single square inch of your place”, is the easy answer. The honest answer? It all depends. Not much help, sorry. Us gurus know though that ceilings are the unsung hero. Not to mention it is a thousand times easier to paint ceilings prior to painting your walls. It’s the overall preferred method. Could we paint the ceilings after the walls are painted? Of course! But the difficulty of it will be reflected in the price tag. The time it takes to paint a ceiling, after walls have been painted, can double, or triple, depending on the size of the home and the amount of furniture. The “order of painting a room” is to do ceilings first, then walls, baseboard, then doors and trim last. Doors and trim can be painted just as easily, and cost just the same, with the walls painted, or untouched.

Fresh wall paint can lose its “umph” resting below a neglected ceiling. Show your home that you care!

Or, at least tell them that we do.
